little more about the national “Give Kids a Smile Initiative”

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, as
designated by the American Dental Association. Many schools across the country
participate in this month-long initiative by way of special “Give Kids a Smile”
events. One of the largest single-day clinic events of this nature in the
country is held at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. In this
episode of THE NEXT DDS Podcast, we talk to Mackensie Tappe, a D3 student from
the University of
Minnesota who has
participated in “Give Kids a Smile” each of her three years in dental school.
As a D3 student this year, Mackensie had a direct role in the organization and
execution of the event. As such, she was able to give us some unique insight
into UMN’s highly successful annual affair.
